NMSU VLSI Program at a glance
The NMSU-VLSI program is becoming a national as well as internationally recognized program. In August of 1999, NMSU hosted the 42nd Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems, the longest continuous conference in the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society. Late that year, the current VLSI program director, Prof. Jaime Ramirez-Angulo, was named IEEE Fellow for Contributions to Design Methodologies for Analog Signal Processing Integrated Circuits. In this brochure we describe the facilities, the research areas, courses and recent publications in the VLSI program at New Mexico State University.

- Two Faculty (one IEEE fellow)
- Highly visible Analog VLSI and mixed signal Program with very active research component
- Five courses in VLSI offered on a regular basis.
- Two VLSI labs with highly specialized IC test ,measurement and computational facilities
- Areas of research: Low-voltage, low power analog design, test of mixed mode systems, high frequency filters, analog array processors, D-to-A and A-to-D converters, current-mode signal processors, high performance analog integrated circuits, fuzzy and neural networks.
- 53 Journal papers (primarily in IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I & II, IEEE Journal of Solid State Circuits, Analog Integrated Circuits and Signal Processing, IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation, IEE Electronics Letters, IEE Transactions on Circuits and Devices)
- 151 Conference papers (primarily in IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems)
- 5 Book chapters
- 2 patents
- Funding: National Science foundation, Engineering Foundation, Sandia National Labs, Texas Instruments, Intel, Air Force Research Labs (formerly Phillips Lab), Hewlett Packard, Agilent Technologies
- 160 citations to NMSU VLSI publications since 1993 in Science Citation index
The Klipsch School of ECE is a proud member of the Cadence University Program.
