Stability of
Laser trimmed film resistors
Development of the
first fundamental theory to predict the long term stability of laser trimmed film resistors. Drifts due to
aging limit the maximum practical resolution achievable with these devices As a
result of this work optimal selection can now be made of the laser trim paths.
This allows increased (long term) resolution of circuits using laser trimmed
film resistors. As a result of his work novel digitally trimmable thin film
resistor and MOS transistor structures have been developed.

Publication of
Seminal paper on current-mode filters. The paper describes an approach for
implementation of continuous-time current-mode filters. Pioneer work in the
development of current-mode filters based on ladder structures
Introduction of
various new architectures of linear
transconductance amplifiers that are characterized by high linearity and very
wide gain adjustment range maintaining almost constant bandwidth. These
characteristics are extremely important from the point of view of easy
tunability of continuous time OTA-C filters.

filters with foQ products very close to technology limits.
Introduction of a
simple and effective technique to compensate transconductor excess phase. This
makes possible operation of continuous time filters OTA-C at higher frequencies

family of active filters (denoted OTA-Op-amp approach) that combines op-amps in
closed loop and OTAs in open loop in an optimal way. These technique allows
relaxing the performance requirements of both, the OTA and the op-amp

Test of
mixed-signal VLSI systems:
Introduction of a
novel and efficient method for the test
of mixed-mode VLSI systems (which has
been patented). This method allows characterization of a mixed-mode VLSI
system with a simple global test and
without utilization of test vectors. It has
potential to reduce enormously the the cost of testing mixed-mode VLSI circuits
In this relation novel schemes for high speed dynamic current testing have been
introduced.
Implementation

analog median filters, analog wavelet processors
Novel Low-voltage

Conception of
several innovative methods for continuous-time operation of op-amp based
circuits with sub-volt
supply requirements close to a transistor's threshold voltage. Among
these techniques the two most relevant are: a) Low voltage circuits based on
static and dynamic floating voltage sources, b) Low voltage
circuits based floating gate and quasi floating gate
transistors
BiCMOS circuits:
Development of
several novel analog BiCMOS building

characteristics.
These make optimal use of the availability of MOS and
bipolar transistors
on a single silicon substrate.
