AIS : The mission of the AIS Challenge is to improve students' understanding and use of technology by developing their skills in scientific inquiry, modeling, computing, communications, and team work.

The Challenge is a program encompassing the school year in which teams of students complete science projects using high-performance super computers. Each team of one to five students and a sponsoring teacher defines and works on a single computational project of its own choosing.

AMP : To ensure that the United States remains the most productive and efficient country in the scientific and technological world requires our workforce to be representative of society. With a graduation rate of 4.8% among underrepresented minorities nationwide, there is a need for Science, Mathematics, Engineering and Technology (SMET) disciplines to diversify their ethnic make up. This effort must include outreach to and opportunities for Hispanics, American Indians, and African Americans who have historically not made up a representative portion of university SMET graduates.

Chemical Olympics : In response to growing problems concerning science education in our schools, the Chemical Olympics, since 1989, has awarded cash grants to the schools represented by the winning students. This has provided much -needed money for supplies and equipment for the science departments of the schools.

Co-operative Extension Service : The Co-operative Extension Service is the educational outreach arm of New Mexico State University's college of Agriculture and Home Economics in Las Cruces. Backed by state and federal funding, extension truly is a co-operative effort between the college and county governments through out New Mexico.

ISTF : From October 2001 through February 2002, student teams will apply technology to real world problems when they participate in the ISTF. As a team, students using content guidelines based on national science content standards will work with a practicing scientist or engineer who acts as the team’s online advisor. on-line technical advisor. Teams publish their final research reports in a web page format that is then judged against other teams from across the nation. Top teams receive certificates of award from the National Medal of Technology Program at the U.S. Department of Commerce

M-Tec : M-Tec links New Mexico State University (NMSU) and New Mexico industries together in a synergetic relationship. M-Tec utilizes resources provided by the tax payers together with the resources provided by the NMSU College of Engineering. The college resources include technical expertise, equipment and facilities that allow M-Tec to educate and train students and employees for New Mexico manufacturing and provide technical support for these industries. In doing this, the NMSU educational programs are strengthened, student employment opportunities are increased and critical needs of NM are satisfied.

NA/CS : The NA/CS is a Program designed to provide Native Americans opportunities in Computer Science. The program includes a Computer Science Camp held at the New Mexico State University for three weeks during the summer.

New Mexico MESA : New Mexico Mathematics, Engineering Science Achievement Inc MESA is a part of a National Initiative promoting Educational Enrichment for Pre-college student from historically under represented groups. NM MESA prepares the students for college majors and careers in Mathematics, Engineering and Science related fields.

Odyssey of the mind :The Odyssey of the Mind teaches students to learn creative problem-solving methods while having fun in the process. For more than twenty years, this unique program has helped teachers generate excitement in their students. By tapping into creativity, and through encouraging imaginative paths to problem solving, students learn skills that will provide them with the ability to solve problems -- great and small -- for a lifetime.

The Odyssey of the Mind teaches students how to think divergently by providing open-ended problems that appeal to a wide range of interests. Students learn how to identify challenges and to think creatively to solve those problems. They are free to express their ideas and suggestions without fear of criticism. The creative problem-solving process rewards. thinking "outside of the box." While conventional thinking has an important place in a well-rounded education, students need to learn how to think creatively and productively.

PREP Program : Las Cruces PREP (Prefreshman Engineering Program) is a program aimed at high achieving pre-college students. Our goal is to increase the number of competently prepared students from the Las Cruces are who will ultimately pursue science and Engineering studies in college. We encourage the participation of achieving women and minority students, who are typically under-represented in such Mathematics based careers. As an eight week academically intense summer program, Las Cruces PREP enhances education our participants receive from the public and private schools in the Las Cruces area.

RASEM : Regional Alliance of Science, Engineering and Mathematics for Disabled students RASEM is providing the means, support and encouragement for students with disabilities to overcome the educational barriers they face in considering science, engineering

RETA : RETA is a state wide partnership that helps New Mexico educators and administrators integrate technology in the classroom.

Robo Rave : Programmed Robot competetion

SCIAD : The Science Education Alliance (SEA) SCIence ADvisor program is a schools-community partnership strengthening mathematics and science instruction. SEA participating agencies provide scientists, mathematics, engineers and technicians who are professional resources for teachers and as role models for children.

Science Fair : South western New Mexico Regional Science and Engineering Fair (SWNMRSEF)! This Fair is affiliated with the International Science and Engineering Fair administered by Science Service in Washington DC. We are affiliated with Fair Number 410501

Science Olympiad : The New Mexico Science Olympiad tournament is an academic interscholastic competition consisting of over 32 individual and team events for which students prepare during the school year. The competitions follow the format of classroom lab tests, popular board games, TV shows, and Olympic games. These challenging and motivational events are well balanced between the various science disciplines of biology, earth science, chemistry,physics computers and technology. Science Olympiad focuses on areas of science education: science concepts/knowledge, science processes /thinking skills, and science application/technology.

SEMAA : SEMAA provides K-12 grade students with a better understanding of and a greater appreciation for science, engineering and mathematics. Meeting on Saturday mornings during the academic year, and in a separate summer program. Students are actively engaged in hands on inquiry based co-operative learning environment that allows students every grade level to learn by doing. Parents and guardians are involved as well through an extensive parent Cafe program In addition to the Saturday morning program, SEMAA also offers several math and science outreach programs at local elementary schools and community centers.

SHUTTLE CAMP: Shuttle Camp® is held at the New Mexico Museum of Space History in Alamogordo, NM, near White Sands Missle Range. Students will test out high-adventure fun, teamed with hands-on exposure to living and working in space. Sessions are conducted throughout the New Mexico Museum of Space History's complex.

SPACEGRANT : The mission of NMSGC is to encourage every citizen of New Mexico to participate in the economic, education, and scientific benefits of space; to encourage and recruit citizens of New Mexico into aerospace -related science, engineering, and technology careers; and to establish commonalities among the programs of consortium partners.

TSA : The mission of the Technology Student Association is to prepare our membership for the challenges of a dynamic world by promoting technological literacy, leadership, and problem solving, resulting in personal growth and opportunity.

Upward Bound College-Prep Program : A program for High school students whose parents have not received a 4 year Degree and / or Federal Income Guidelines that provides counseling, tutoring and educational experience to encourage tutoring and Educational experience to encourage students to continue their education and succeed in college.
